Chords in the key of D minor

D minor, natural minor. Relative major: F.

Same notes and chords as F major, just with Dm as home. Here's the twist minor keys pull: the 5 chord is minor on paper (Am), but most songs swap in a major A because it pulls home harder. If a minor-key song suddenly sounds dramatic right before the chorus, that's usually the culprit.

The workhorses are the 1m, 4m, ♭6 and ♭7 (Dm, Gm, B♭, C), plus that borrowed major 5 (A).
