Reporting a detection problem? Send the song name and a link, roughly where in the song it went wrong, and what Chartless showed vs. what you expected. Every report makes the charts better.

Getting started

Open a tab with music (YouTube, streaming, anything with sound).
Click the Chartless icon and press Start. The overlay appears on the tab and chords show as they're detected.
Key locks within a few seconds; tempo and the beat indicator need ~10 seconds of steady music.

Common questions

No overlay? Chartless can't draw on Chrome system pages or the Web Store. Switch to a normal website and press Start again.
No sound after starting? Capturing routes the tab's audio through the extension — if you press Stop and audio doesn't return, reload the tab.
Chords look wrong? Try Simple mode for songs that stay in one key — it ignores everything outside the key's seven chords. Jazz and fast-changing songs want Pro mode.
No bpm / beat dot? The beat indicator only appears once the tempo is confidently locked. Sparse or rubato music may never lock — that's by design, no flashing wrong numbers.
Where's my data? Nowhere. Audio is analyzed on your machine and discarded; settings and per-song memory live in your browser only. See the privacy policy.
